Abstract

This paper outlines the basic concepts and principles in the development of an integrated construction company management information system (MIS) for controlling and steering the entire operation of the firm. The system is composed of three sub-systems. Incorporation of the time parameter in cost control unnecessarily complicates the control procedure. This is dispensed with by separation between the functional modules for controlling past performance, and those processing future projections and trends, as demonstrated by a more detailed description of the quantity-based sub-system.
