Abstract
The paper describes the results of a survey conducted to determine the sources of finance used by promoters and contractors in funding construction work and projects. Bankers and other involved with finance in the City of London were also interviewed and broad outlines of their procedures for assessing loan applications and the attendant risks ascertained.
