Abstract

Identifies need to establish a quantitative method to measure performance of construction it systems and indentifies measurement indicators. The author discusses the difficulties and challenges involved in establishing a quantitative method to measure the performance of information technology (IT) systems and concludes that because each construction organization has its unique circumstances for prioritizing indicators, it is difficult to provide a single formula to deal with the evaluation of all construction IT systems. Research is currently in progress to empirically validate the indicators and their surrogates defined in the paper.
