Abstract
The relationship between construction managers and the information technology manager is analysed and the challenges confronting the IT manager during re-engineering are presented. This paper argues that the benefits from IT deployment would be marginal if only superimposed on an existing construction process. Instead, the process should be redesigned and composed to maximize the use of modern IT techniques.
