Abstract

The effect of ventilator location on thermal comfort and air flow distribution in new domestic houses in the UK. The results of tests showed that placing an air ventilator at low level with no internal blade or baffle, creates a temperature difference of more than 3°C between head and ankle level for a seated person. The temperature difference is increased if any kind of heating is switched on. Placing air ventilators in cupboards, which are usually full and have the door closed is dangerous practice and should be discontinued.
