Al-Husseini, A-M (2006) The impact of transformational leadership and empowerment on project management. Unpublished DM thesis, University of Phoenix, USA.
Abstract
This mixed methods research study used quantitative and qualitative data to determine if transformational leadership competencies and project manager empowerment influenced project completion success rate at a large project management consulting company. Prior research found a significant project completion failure rate for software projects related to time and budget issues. The present findings confirmed the high rate failure and concluded there is a significant relationship between leadership competencies combined with project manager empowerment and increasing completion success rate. This study might contribute to the body of knowledge associated with leadership and empowerment theories as it relates to project management and increasing completion success rate.
