Praeludium to the 50th anniversary special issue

The special issue of the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, to be published in September, 2007, includes a historical review of several topics and issues discussed in it and provides an outlook of the potential of construction engineering. All the papers included in the special issue of the journal are invited papers that were invited from two groups of prospective authors. Some of the invited papers are from from reputed professionals, who have been identified from specific areas of research, practice, or dedicated to the profession of construction. These professionals have contributed significantly to improving construction engineering, research, and presented new ideas through papers published in the journal. All the prospective authors were encouraged to submit overview-type papers that may be of interest to a large section of readers of the journal.
